On day 8 of "Be Quranic," we delve into the fourth ayah of Suratul Fatiha, "Malikiyaumiddin," reflecting on the inevitability of death and the life beyond it. This ayah serves as a daily reminder of our accountability in the afterlife, a concept we recite at least 17 times a day, and one that was emphasised by Rasulullah (saw) as a wise practice. It underlines the importance of the Akhira (afterlife) in giving our lives deeper meaning and ensuring ultimate justice—a poignant reminder when considering evil figures like George Bush and Benjamin Netanyahu, whose actions caused millions to suffer.
Our focus today is on aligning our daily actions with Akhira, transforming even simple acts like eating into worship by ensuring they are performed with the right intention and in accordance with Islamic principles. Let's live today with the afterlife in our minds, turning every act into one of worship.
